Thank you for the suggestion Rene.
I did as you suggested, and I think it worked. Your tool gave me a custom Film Speed based on the Ilford Delta 100 Density data I entered from a previous dev. I have also shot on camera some Gray Walls on Zone I and going to compare the results.
The most...
Oh i see what it is! I have tried to calibrate my lightsource using the Delta 100 as reference, so 0.1 over base should happen at Absolute 0.9 Log Exposure. Your web tools works in Relative Exposure, so it doesnt matter where it lands, right?
You have posted many interesting resource after this...
You are the developer of that tool? Great job it looks amazing!
I tried with the curve I posted earlier. I have one question for you :)
I entered the Density values I got for the values of Exposure Log between 0.60 and 3.00 in 0.15 Steps, but the tool ploted the curve with the first point at...
That's a great graph Bill, thanks for sharing that! :)
Oh I see. I will study the articles you sent on your link. I Have much more to learn about sensitometry, only started to scratch the surface here.
It is nice to know if needed someday I can replace the original step wedge with a brand new one and have it all working perfectly!
About the template, I found it on Google. I have been trying to find the link for the author but have been unable to do so so far :/ I want to give credit to the...
This is my first Characteristic Curve made using the X-Rite 334 Sensitometer. Ilford Delta 100 following XTOL Tables. Used the process described above to find the Light Output of the Exposure Mode 6 on the 334, which was used for this curve.
My X-Rite 331 Densitometer finally arrived, and I can start to have fun with Sensitometry.
My Delta 100 Exposed Strip has a Measured Density of 0.30, and the first Patch is showing 0.32, so I am below 0.1 b+f which is good right? I think by 3rd Patch I get above 0.1 B+F
How would I plot the X...
Very enlightening. I had no idea Zone System could shift the Film Speed so much.
That is also my understanding from the Zone System, and I am also in the process of reading the books. Ansel Adams makes it quite clear, it is a tool to allow the artist to transform his vision into a final print...
Thank you all again!
So you find your Film Speed like described by Ansel Adams, bracketing shooting Zone I Metering, and the frame where the exposure gives you 0.1 over b+f, that is what your film speed is set?
So it would be beneficial to have more toe samples, meaning more patches with...
Thank you for the clarification.
But wont this mean the reference for Ilford Delta 100 at 0.1 over base+fog will no longer match the value expected for using as calibration for the light output?
Edit:
Does this look ok? I set maximum Exposure Time, Mode 7. More than that would require me to...
Thank you very much for these numbers!
I assume this is only true when using the ISO Standard Kodak D-76 Developer? I currently use XTOL, but I can purchase D76 just for these calibration process.
Sorry to bump this thread, but I have just received a X-rite 334 Sensitometer, and this is the best place on the internet to find knowledgeable users of such equipment and how better to use it!
Without means to compare my Sensitometer with any other reference, as this was already hard enough to...
