For Sale Darkroom items including 4x5 enlarger

If you are interested in donation, I am the manager at a small community darkroom in Randolph, VT, and we could really use a lot of these items. I'll be in Brattleboro this weekend sourcing things we need from VCP, so if you're interested, I could make the journey down...

    Help Identifying Plastic Reels

Ha yep, I gathered the implied "not." I've only recently seen those big flange reels at a different darkroom. Apparently they make loading pretty easy and were favored by some people there, but I have no problem with Patersons. This is very helpful info, and I'm going to toss these guys with...

    Hello from Vermont

Belated greetings! I'm pretty much your neighbor, by Vermont standards. I work out of the darkroom at the White River Craft Center in Randolph. Hope to catch you in person sometime!

No, the attached cores are much smaller, the opening is probably only as wide as a pencil. They also stand too tall to be used in a Paterson tank without the tube (bump into the funnel). I am leaning toward unicolor based on some ebay results, but not entirely certain.

    Help Identifying Plastic Reels

Hi, I've been rehabbing a community darkroom (White River Craft Center in Randolph, VT, if anyone's local) and am in the process of sorting through the developing reels. This darkroom has gotten a lot of donations over the years, so things have gotten a bit jumbled. We have Paterson tanks...

Salvaging Verichrome Pan 126 shot in the 70s

Thanks! I'll stick to the 8 minute fix since the first roll didn't fully clear with 5 and I'd rather not have to redo them all. Like you said, no harm.

Thanks all for the continued helpful discussion. The film wasn’t sticky at all, it’s been clean and easy to handle so far. The anti-halation remainder was most likely from pressing against the reels, probably from being so curly. It was solved with a better pre-wash. Here are the results from...

Thanks so much! This first roll was very encouraging. I'm excited to do the rest.

These really do look underdeveloped rather than just fogged, here is a closeup of the edge markings. Maybe stick to 18C but do 7 or 8 minutes? They're so thin.

I have a short update on this project. From the advice and discussion here, I ordered some HC-110 and developed the mankiest roll from the lot. Since plenty of folks were curious about the result, here's the first pass. I followed the Verichrome Pan data sheet: developed in HC-110 B @ 18C for 6...

Thank you so much for the additional thoughts, Donald, Agulliver, and lamerko. The specific technical information was a big help. Rather than blaze ahead with rodinal, I've ordered some HC-110. I'll get going next week when it arrives. I'll keep the forum updated with my results.

I don't usually use a changing bag, but I don't have much control of the dinky ventilation fan in my apartment bathroom, and I want to be considerate about bringing my moldy funky experiments into my community darkroom.

Great point! I appreciate everyone's help. I hope to have some results to report over the weekend if anyone is curious. Albo
