This is exactly what I do with maxima, as its smallest available size is 16” wide. I cut my 16x10 strips on the automated cutter, and then manually cut them in half to 8x10.
I’m the friend in question; there’s definitely a stop of base fog here, but for anyone interested;
Top two sheets are color checkers on film that I estimate has 1/2 stop base fog (in other words, a half stop pull eliminates the fog). Left is Normal dev, right is pulled a stop.

Looks like the packaging has changed too; no more metal can in a cardboard box, but a microfilm-style box similar to what Ultrafine uses now.
I remain suspicious that 100ft rolls are still more expensive for them to finish than 18 35mm cassettes. While spooling and cutting are automated, a...

Selling these as I don't print enough 16x20.
This paper is fantastic; excellent contrast and saturation. I enjoy printing 120 Kodak Gold and 35mm Ektar on this, and have some great...
DP-II and Maxima remain available! I also have fresh endura in, expiry date of June 2026. I'll be doing some tests on this paper before I open it up for general sale.
