Experimenting outside of my comfort zone. Saw this cowboy coming in quickly and did not adjust my camera settings so it’s a very moody neg. Leaning into that with rough edges, simulated masking tape—all messier than I usually do but thought it was fun to show “process”. Will finish a final one soon.
Nice! I'm getting wild west vibes! Your subject doesn't look under exposed. The red filter making the sky dark and what looks to be a tree shadow in the foreground give it a natural vignette. I think its excellent.
Thank you everyone for the kind words once I finish exploring how I want to tone I’ll post the final. I also played with warmtone paper I bought off here so I’ll do that for comparison. The darkroom really is a rabbit hole…

Aw thanks! Great point about the natural vignette. I bit off a little more than I could chew this trip (using a new-to-me camera with a red filter while hiking solo and trying to get the hang of zone system ) but some photos like this one turned out superb!
