On the surface, too ordinary, thus valid for David Lyga to pass on.
On the other hand, this 'nexus of incongruity' does indeed provide a palliative for such pedestrian fare. Yes, even ugly 'concrete efficiency' can be persuaded to manifest into sublime aesthetics. This nature's gift provides such. - David Lyga
It is beautiful tree and the juxtaposition with the brutality of concrete is interesting. The photograph is even more intriguing if you know Trier/Treves. A city with many wonderful things to see including a huge Roman city gate. The irony of course is that the Romans invented concrete!
David, thank you for the kind review of my image. The written description of your interpretation is beautifully expressed, as usual.
Svenedin, yes I do agree, there are many beautiful places in Trier. I have many of them photographed, this is just one I found while exploring. For obvious reasons it caught my eye. It is from a batch of film I shot in the spring that I finally scanned. I plan on taking my newly acquired 4x5 camera there to explore and learn further. -Doug
