Zabriskie Point Mountains, Death Valley, CA

I didn't want the typical sweeping landscape. This is intended to be more about form than representation, like the rest of my work. Is it?

good image, I think by cropping out all of the sky and concentrating more on the ravines in the hills-would place the emphasis more on form than representation.

A representative landscape. I doubt it could be anything but. Strange that even with G3 AZO it seem very flat to me. It also feels very off kilter somehow. Perhaps a longer lens (if one was available) down the center to isolate everything else would have achieve the form/abstract you were gunning for. I would not include any sky if my intention was form/abstract/shape.

I thought about and tried cutting the sky out of this photo, but the form it creates is appealing to me and to quite a few other large format photographers that have seen it. Thanks for the comments.

I like the image, Jason.

I agree with Francesco that it seems a bit flat (could easily be due to the scan). Also, I have the sense that the foreground is not quite level. I rotated your image 1 degree ccw and adjusted the gamma slightly (went from 1.0 to 1.2), then performed a small radius unsharp masking operation to get back in the neighborhood of your original. If you like, I'll post the result

Sorry Jason!
I rotated your image 1 degree clockwise - not counter-clockwise.
