Very tricky lighting. It's nice. It's always difficult with wide-angle lenses to decide which bits to try to get horizontal/vertical. I wonder what this would look like with a small tweak to level the Z-Burger sign to the horizontal (or closer to the horizontal)? It may cause the building behind to look odd but this is the kind of tweak that can be done in photoshop and then undone (just like projecting the image on the easel and trying different crops/compositions).
@Svenedin Bear in mind that this was hand-held. I think I did a pretty good job of leveling, considering But I see what you mean. The sign is ever so slightly askew.
You did do a good job. Personally, I'm awful at getting level photographs (astigmatism) but minor askew is easily corrected. It is only that the sign is so much the focal point of the picture that this is noticed. It may be that it does not look any better with an adjustment but it is worth a little play because it is a good photograph.
Nice to see that the RZ67 is getting out about the town .
This, the bodega photo you just posted, and a lot of your earlier work makes me think that the RZ67 and your Rollieflexes should get along well.
You should also consider linking to this anytime you see someone posting something like "the RZ67 (or RB67) is essentially a studio camera"
Nice! I love dusk images when the sky is still lit but lights are also factor. If you shot the same image at night it wouldn't have the same appeal.
I don't have any problem with the architecture being askew. This is an image about volume, not an architecture study. In that sense the image works great.
@Patrick Robert James Oh, I absolutely intend to keep doing these. I love shooting at that time of day where the light is balanced between the street and the sky. It's a sort-of in-between moment that's neither one nor the other, and has its own magic.
