I saw this young man sitting on the bench around the Palazzo Medici-Riccardi. I dont know what he was waiting for might have been a bus, or a group of students visiting the Palazzo. Regardless, his pose cried out to make his portrait.
A lot of the time I was in Italy it was gray and overcast, so I had a giant natural softbox for a light source on almost every shot. For some that works better than others, like in this case- it helped open up his face without the need for burning and dodging to get his eyes visible.
