From a scanned 8x10 negative. A pretty typical Yosemite Falls photo. I was trying out the 28" element of a Turner Reich (using the front element by itself behind the shutter). Neg is soft in all the corners.
A 28" lens stretches out the Zone VI bellows to the end of the geared tracks...awkward to use. My Kodak 2D has no problem eating the focal length up, but I only have a 5x7 back for it.
I'll have to try POP someday, Vic. I've seen Linda Conner's work and her darkroom/backyard. The idea of setting out a bunch of prints out in the sun in one's backyard to expose...then checking on the exposures visually while sipping a good beer sounds like a nice way to print. We often lack sun here on the north coast of CA, but enough to print half the year.
But I have everything (including experience) for platinum/palladium prints. The neg has enough contrast to print without needing any restrainers to boost contrast.
Not enough contrast for the way I make carbon prints -- but then since I do single transfers, the falls would be reversed (left-to-right...the water would still flow downhill, LOL!) which would cause some confusion with such a well-known landmark.
