Xmas Decoration Bokeh

This is my second attempt at using a Magic Latern lens. This one is a B&L, part of a pair I bought at the Photographica show last month. I think it's pretty close to the 14" that Jim was using. Under the B&L info is the name "T(F?)olson Manufacturing, Orange __ . The info is not engraved on the barrel, but printed in the deteriorated top-coat on the brass.

The figure in the image is about 4" tall. Scanned contact 4x5 print, quite over exposed. Slow hands, first try.

Nice shot. The bokeh looks a bit "swirly", although I can't say for sure.
Looks like it would do nicely for portraits. Do you say that you have a pair? Like, "two of the same"?
Hmmm.... You don't need BOTH, do you? :wink:

I agree that the Bokeh is a bit on the "swirly" side. I am awaiting one of these toys myself. Nice print, not that Whitey will ever know, since he doesn't read these comments....

I'm much more on top of these things now, Matt. Watch out, I may read everything! I have a vacation coming up starting tomorrow!!!!

No, I don't really have a "pair." I bought two that were part of a package ("But wait! if you buy both of these, I'll throw in this and this and this!")

I think what you have done is very interesting, and looks good to me! If you have two
lenses that match, mount them both on a lens board and go stereo on us!
