This is an interesting subject that could be photographed in several other ways. One different approach would be to use a much wider angle lens, and show it in its setting, and perhaps from a number of different angles. Another way would be to get in close on those wonderful rusted panels and wooden square thing. Did you try any other ways of photographing this?
Wide wouldn't work as there were too many competing objects nearby, I did a number of close ups - some are posted in the standard gallery and will probably post a few more in the future.
I've had the fun of checking out a few bits of that canal in ventures up that way, there are a lot of interesting structures, bridges, locks, etc. for photographic topics. Not to mention a heron posed for me at remarkably close range at one spot! I was amazed at how much activity there is on the canal and on the towpath which serves as a trail. Anyway, I'm a bit into old structures and I think it's good to preserve them with photos before they go away. I remember your earlier closeup, so it's interesting to get a sense of the whole building.
