Looks like a great location. The strong light from the left seems to be problematic, however, as the contrast level here appears to be held back a bit to get more detail. If this is a place you can return to, I'd suggest taking along a couple of large pieces of white foamcore to use as reflectors. That way, you can balance the lighting ratio a bit better. I'd also suggest trying more dramatic angles, getting closer and looking down at the machinery, so the background is eliminated or minimized.
 
I love the subject matter and the tones of the machine. I would have probably stood a wee bit more to the left to get a better perspective of the thing, and not so line of sight. As for the lower left corner....tell 'em it's ghost sawdust! haha
