The iron steps at Witley court, a ruined house in the Midlands of the UK.
This is the first print from my roll of Adox/Efke 25 I have recently tried out. I think this is a fantastic film, the scan does not do the detail and tones true justice.
Comments welcome
How do you think it compares to other films you've tried?
I like the subject matter, but the print feels a bit flat. Perhaps it's a good idea to check the level as well. If you have more detail in the high and low values (in the neg), you could have a real nice negative to play with.
Digi, you might try a yellow filter for skies next time. Since this film is an "ortho-panchromatic" as far as sensitivity to light, it has trouble seeing blue sky and sees red as closer to black. Oh, by the way, good job on a first attempt with this film. tim
Thanks both. As compared to my limited knowledge of other films it produces really contrasty negatives, my comparator has never suggested using grade 1 or less before (sorry this doesn't show on the print) and as Tim says it may respond better to slow steady develpment, anyone any thoughts on two bath developers for this ?
I have noticed it's narrow spectral range and a yellow filter seems a good idea for background sky. I have a shot of an old shop which isn't anywhere near a final print but it has a really 1950s look to it so I'm guessing the film technology is around 50 years old.
I am pleased with thgis as a first attempt though.
