Wish I had the 4x5 with me

One of those days you wished you had the 4x5 with you rather than 35mm and grainy 400 asa film. Oh well.

Probably some grain enhancement from the scanning, too. But don't worry, I see what you meant. You know, in Germany we have a saying about these clouds:"In Frauen und in Zirren kann man sich gewaltig irren." (You can go wrong in women and cirrus clouds. (The reference to cirrus clouds is because they're not a good predictor of weather, plus, it doesn't rhyme any longer ...)). Just thought I'd mention it.

Still a lovely photo.

hi eric, dramatic sky enhanced by the grain as I see it ... nice photograph ...

If you print the negative and then scan the print you'll see the grain diminished. Good picture.

Thats the spirit. I wish I had my 4x5. I carrier a 35mm too and have come to that conclusion sometimes. I develop all my small film in Micro-x to keep the grain as small as possible. in fact I developed all my Point Lobos and Yosemite in it too and I shot 8x10 T-max and it came out great. I'm going to put some of my work up this week if possible.

Eric,
This is a great cloudscape. I'm using Delta 400 in ID11 stock and I never notice the grain to any extent.

Cheers

I don't think the grain detracts from the image at all. One thing's for sure, the scene would have looked different!
I personally think there's a charm to the gritty appearance of 35mm. Try it with Ilford Delta 3200 some time. It's a refreshing experience, and makes beautiful photographs.
Love that sky, Eric!
