Fomabrom! My lovely son sent me Fomabrom paper for Christmas. I've not had a chance to get into the darkroom since early December, so what a thrill, to turn off the lights and open my Christmas present.
I had been seen an German Van Gogh drawings catalog at my university 25 years ago. This Christmas , I visited online catalog , found the book name and ordered from the Amazon. I am also collecting Engraver Slania works on postal stamps also , especially the Landscapes.Above photograph and two stories have common subject , Hasselblad has just been rendered the trees like an ink job or engraving burin job.I cant understand the people who have 4 different brands of MF cameras. How can one pass above quality and use japanese crap. They are sharp and contrasty but no place in western eastern art as their signatures.
Thank you Rich and Winger. Mustafa, I appreciate good optics, but the Hassie is a heavy brick of a thing. I'm afraid I take "Japanese crap", or worse, with me if I'm walking any distance. I used to hike for hours with the hasselblad or crown graphic, tripod, film holders, etc, but not anymore. 2 damaged shoulders means that I can't carry much weight. I'm hoping that physio and Pilates classes will improve things, but I doubt I'll ever again climb a mountain with 15 pounds of camera gear. Age catches up with all of us.
That is a beautiful print, Lilian! I don't know about you but I always find it difficult to get the fog or mist really "right" when making lith - you've really succeeded here...
