Winter Light in Late Afternoon

Tramping around the woods yesterday I found a lot to photograph. The light is amazing at this time of year. (It's actually late autumn light, but with the trees all leafless, it just seems more like winter.)

Gorgeous image..and the light was noticably brighter in Columbia County NY as well.

I like what you've got going on with that tree on the right side...balanced imbalance

Nice light. What time of day?

Thanks for the kind comments, folks. As to the time of day...it was somewhere between 3PM and 4PM. The sun was at a very acute angle and I was shading the lens with my hand in addition to the lens hood that was already on it. I was so absorbed in shooting before the light was lost that I wasn't aware of much else (including stepping into some swampy muck I hadn't bothered to notice).

John, like the light and delicacy of the branches. Nice textures, the print must look radiant. tim
