The contrast here seems excessive, as most of the detail in the blooms seems to have been lost. FWIW, the composition strikes me as too "normal" - too close to what one would see walking along and looking down at the flower. A more dynamic composition - perhaps closer to and at the same level of the flower, but showing the winter surroundings for context, perhaps - would be more effective, I think.

For out-and-about flower shots like this, I think we either have to be willing to get our knees dirty, or carry a small tarp.
