Looking out of a window in Muckross House, near Killarney, Co. Kerry, Ireland. Muckross is a Tudor mansion built in 1843 for Henry Herbert. This photo was taken in August of 1983. This print was made in July, 1984 on 8” x 10” paper. (Previously posted, but long since deleted.)
Funny thing: I was working for RTÉ in the 80s and we shot a kids’ short programme in Muckross House around about ’83. A fun shoot except for the jarvey traffic ferrying tourists around and mucking up our wide shots. I’ve got a cast/crew photo taken in Muckross House somewhere...

Possible; we were shooting during high season. What I remember best is the fine poached salmon at Nick’s Steakhouse over in Killorglin, where we mostly stayed to avoid the crush in Killarney.
