Funny thing: I was working for RTÉ in the 80s and we shot a kids’ short programme in Muckross House around about ’83. A fun shoot except for the jarvey traffic ferrying tourists around and mucking up our wide shots. I’ve got a cast/crew photo taken in Muckross House somewhere...

Possible; we were shooting during high season. What I remember best is the fine poached salmon at Nick’s Steakhouse over in Killorglin, where we mostly stayed to avoid the crush in Killarney.

I was there in late August. We were staying in a rental cottage near Thurles, I think.

Oh well; we were shooting late spring or early summer. The gardens were exploding with flowers. Some great country down there.
