Thisis lovely. And the lighting is wonderful. The only thing that might have been done differently is to have a reflector on the left to throw some light into the shadow side of the case.

There was some discussion on another board recently about lighting for portraits of elderly folks in nursing homes. This shows how siimple lighting can be used to create a wonderful portrait of an older family member. And its so important to capture images like these - there is a clock ticking somewhere, and the time will quickly come when these folks are no longer around. Making sensitive images like this enables subsequent generations to remember their ancestors.

Congratulations on a super portrait. I nominate you as the best unavailable light photographer of the month!

excellent portrait, very good composition. I feel I need more mid-tones to bring up some details in the shadows (not sure about my monitor though...); this is where a relector would come in handy.
