Why I need a cable release.

Yeah.

This is a mix of three things going wrong at the same time: the film was a little off (stuck together in the package when I loaded it, but I wanted to see how bad it was), the camera probably moved just a tad (on the ground glass it was pretty sharp), and she moved.

My grandmother, by the way.

Really cool picture! I like it because it has an expressive feeling and a bit of mystery and captures a moment and gesture. Well, can't put it into words but I think it is a fine picture and far better than you might think.

I'm still debating whether or not I should keep it.

Duane Michaels fan?

just cuz it's weird doesn't make it artistic eh. but besides that it's cool. I take it you are doing stand development? stand is great for holding the high lights but generally gives you a lower contrast neg. which personally I prefer for scanning.

Looking at the chair, it looks like she moved more than the camera did. Do you need one of us to mail you a spare cable release?

We were actually figuring that out in the chatroom tonight. We think that it was her moving more, but I'm getting a cable release from someone so that at least I can eliminate the camera shake problem.

And I wasn't really posting it because it's art. More as a chronicle for myself of the road I'm taking with LF.

shake can be good stephanie ... if you don't have a release
use the end of a pen / pencil .. push down as you exhale softly/slowly ..
practice makes perfect

have fun
