couldn't resist the lines and textures, but this is also an incredible example (to me) of how detailed japanese architecture is at times. this is the side of a house in nara, and was probably about 5 meters long on the one side where i took this shot. all along that entire length, the wood had been cut to match the lines of the stones. don't see that kind of craftsmanship much anymore...
Nice drama and tones in your photo. I have made wood match the lines of stones when I was building forms for concrete for my foundation. You can offset a pencil up a few inches and trace the contour onto the wood. The handiwork is now buried.
