I have been busy making a series of encaustic panels for a few photos I took last year in Tuscany. The digital image dont seem to quite give you the textured feel and the right colour balance but I thought I would post anyway. It's a 26″ x 24″ wax panel with a 10" x 10" print.
I love the treatment you've given this presentation. Even though a digi-snap of the finished product doesn't accurately represent the real thing, I can tell how nice this must be in person.
Really hard to get a sense of scale on this one, and pretty amazed that the actual print in the centre is 10"x10"! Do you think there was an old photographer went out and planted trees in clumps that would just beg to be photographed? Love it.
Really love the encaustic frame, and especially the 'corn silk' around the photo. Great effect. The photo is neat too. As Peter Black said, the clump of trees really makes it. One thing, I really don't think that's corn, although it's hard to tell.
In the UK, and likely most of Europe, 'corn' is not maize, unlike the US. As a child in East Anglia it was one of those oddities that the local corn merchant did not sell 'corn' except in the general sense.

You're right, grahamp. Here in the U.S. we think of maize as corn. Biblically, 'corn' was a grain, and I'm sure that's what has continued in Europe. Funny how language gets corrupted.
In any case, Mac064 has created a great picture.
