What I Shot

For anyone wondering what the image looked like that I shot when my assistant photographed me, well here is the frame. I am aware now of all the problems in the image from the lack of fill flash, the not quite razor sharp focus, the problems with the poses and the composition.I was 18 young and had lots to learn,
but ive posted it for the curious.

What problems? It is what it is. Granted, if you'd shot it on 120 with a couple of big strobe heads out of the frame to the right it could have gotten sharper and even surreal if you let the flash dominate the foreground and let the sky go darker BUT - for an 18-year-old and 35mm its a GREAT shot. The colors all work fantastically together and as a teacher of many years I'll not criticize the composition. This has a fun, candid, informal kind of feel - especially with the attendants looking all over the place and not at the camera.

Thanks nyoung, I only had a few minutes shoot time as the sky went psycho and lightning began striking the fields in the distance then it hailed and rained for about 4 hours LOL.

Yep, pretty good, but for an 18 year old, very good. Is that a cow pat, on the verge of the road?

Mick.
