@Ken Bingham Is a good poem, one that holds up over time. I had a major operation a couple of years ago and my body had stress attacks, one of which was I would stop breathing while conscious, said to the nurse if I wave my arms, Im drowning not waving. Usually just needed to shake my head a bit and Id start up again.
@awty Interesting anecdote. The poem is more about emotional suffering, I think, and alienation, but your perspective (both verbal and visual) certainly adds an appreciable dimension to it. And as you say, the work holds up over time -- the price we pay for being what we are in the modern world should always provoke reflection.
@Ken Bingham The picture was hastily conceived and executed, the only way I learn is by doing, so I do then reflect. The modern world and how it affects us as individuals is something that interests me, specially the socially isolated, those not waving but drowning.
