The location made famous by Richard Adams in his book of the same name. Crispinuk and I visited Watership Down in December and became quite mesmerised by the mist rushing up the steep side of the down and over the top. Details became engulfed in the mist and would then reappear at random creating an almost endless variation of images.
I had real trouble scanning this print for some reason. The original has really nice variation in the split toning from pale sepia in the highlights through near neutral grey in the upper mid-tones to blue black and the deep shadows. There's also more 'light' in the original. This scan looks a bit flat and all over brown!
