Bertil,
Thank you for the kind comments. It really popped when I took it. I could see those colors as I shot the image, knowing it was a higher level of loose dirt in the stream in those areas (mud), but I never foresaw the wonderful rendering until it hit my eyes from the image.
Also I was just captivated by the center rock with its patterns, leaves and muck on it. The water seemed to frame up the picture and the patterns on the rock stopped me while I was looking at the area. This one may be my Christmas gift print this year to many a friend.
Bertil,
Thank you for your thoughts. Christmas has been very unusual this year. I had a good printer make me (6) 12 x 12 prints of this image and was very pleased with them. On 12/11/2011 before I got to drymount them for gifts I got a call from my mom and dad that they were in dire medical distress a thousand miles away where they live. I started traveling there within the hour they called and have been with them since. I got Mom into a nursing home and now dad into a rehab since getting him out of the ICU and then a regular hospital room for 10 days. I am working on getting him into the same nursing home. Emotionally the hardest thing I have done.
So long story short, your wonderful comment today gave me some peace in the storm and gave me pause to remember the beauty I saw at Ricketts Glen.
Again, thank you so much, it means a lot to me.
Here to a safe and wonderful 2012. Bless you and enjoy the new year.
