Used my hiking stick as a monopod to get a long enough shutter speed to blur the water. 8'x10" print from 6x7 negative. Shame about the electrical cable. Didn't see that when I took the photo.
Nice, i love waterfalls. I do think often about those little intrusions. If i had seen it, would i have walked away from the scene and not made an exposure? What a mistake that would have been... Assuming this was a recent photo, hope the entire trip was as delightful as this photograph clearly bespeaks. That camera must be nice, too.
@ Peter, try Schönbrunn Palace if you've not already been. Grinzing is very pleasant too or the Danube Valley/Vienna Woods. Thanks Michael. I have some more waterfall pictures (much bigger falls) but no time to print at the moment. Yes a great trip, really exhausting, some tough hiking in snow and ice at high altitude but marvellous. I only got back on Wednesday. I generally won't take a photo if I see an intrusion like that. I try to avoid it or work out whether I could crop it out. Quite glad I took the photo anyway and that my improvised monopod worked -it wasn't very stable but good enough.
Thanks Svenedin ! I am going to the Botanical Garden on Tuesday to try to get some seed I've been looking for. Schoenbrunn sounds perfect for IR with current weather. Bummer I have to be back in Bogota on Thursday.
