Watching TV

This is a re-post of sorts... About a year ago I posted a neg scan of this image, and yesterday I got around to printing it. I really like the way it came out, and I'm amazed at all the detail it retained (even though I overexposed it slightly).

This was shot in the town of Miguel Calmon, as I made my way down from the hill where I photographed the chapel (see my gallery for the shot of the white wall & cross). This was the first thing I saw as I left the trail and got back to the road, and just had to stop and set up the tripod. I did not ask this kid for permission, since he is unidentifiable (I almost always ask permission, and feel the need to point out this exception). The house with the TV has a sign by the window that reads "we sell iced pops and salty snacks" (actually it says "vende-se geladinhos & salgadinhos").

I'm honestly amazed at the amount of detail and relatively small grain the Tri-x in Diafine got me. In Tri-x terms, the grain is on the small side on this print.

All comments are welcome.

I like this!!! My only critique is that I'd try to burn, mask, split-grade, whatever, to bring down the highlight on the TV itself.

Great capture.

Very nice and I agree with Dave's comment, just a little dodge burn maybe on the TV would be neat!
