Watching the kids play

I met this lady as I walked the streets of Miguel Calmon. She was standing on her doorway watching the children play on the street. After photographing the street a little, I went up to her and asked to take a couple of pictures.

This print has been bleached, with dilluted Iodine and a paintbrush, to bring out the highlights a bit.

The spots on the lower portion are present in the negative, probably due to the dusty conditions in which I reloaded the camera. Not a big problem, however.

Please let me know what you think.

I like all of your portraits. I can only comment on the contents of your images as my laptop screen really isn't good enough to really be able to comment on your contrast levels. She looks like she has had a tiresome life.

This is a powerful portrait and is in the tradition of the great photographers who did this work in the 30's and 40's. As stated above, it really captures the essence of this woman. My only comment is that I would like to see a very slight amount of dodging in the face to gently separate her from the background.
