The Royal Hospital Chelsea, London is the home of the famous 'Chelsea Pensioners' -- all ex-British Army. we had one as our Guide. I did take some 'REAL FILM' photos as well but having only 50 ASA film loaded needed 'Digital' set to 400 for interiors.
Don't know why the Brits know genuine 'class' behavior better than other mortals do. It is not the 'costume'. or even the particular personal demeanor, but, instead, an inbred knowledge as to what constitutes appropriate bearing. You Brits cannot perceive why I say this here because of the collective acculturation, but, to those not enhanced with this attribute, it comes across as complete and solid, and even noble. - David Lyga
thanks David -- these 'Chelsea Pensioners' have to be Widowers or Single and no -one to look after them.. If they have an Army Pension they give it up for their upkeep in the Hospital -- room, food, activities, medical care etc . Warrant Officer Willis served 25 years in the British Army. The 'Scarlet Coat' is a 'Dress Uniform' for special occasions or if they leave the Premises to go on trips. They have a 'Blues Uniform' for normal use in and around the Hospital.
