Jeremy, on this one a stop under for exposure and a stop ove for development might not be so bad as there is a pretty narrow range of tones anyway. The extra development may have given highlights a bit more snap. The warning sign reminds me of the tag under the hood of a car. "Warning, sticking your hand in the fan while the car is running might qualify you for an award." tim
I wanted to develop these negs, but the water was at a temp of 85F and I didn't have the time (or energy) to drop it down with some ice so I just did them anyway. It was a test of the camera/film holders/lenses more than anything else, but the accentuated grain makes these prints remind me of older photogravure prints.
jeremy, I really enjoy the intimacy of this.
its interesting... I know youve photographed quite a bit at this dry cleaners (laundrymat?), I can remember some of your images from months ago...
you continue to capture very compelling images of a seemingly simple and (what many would call) a mundace location... but nonetheless I find the images to be continually intriguing.
Really hope to see a few of these prints in person at the end of the month.
Matt, it's the dry cleaners that I work at and only started to shoot there "seriously" in the last couple of months. I find it to be a great creative challenge to try and shoot some shots that are interesting to me (I don't know if anyone else likes them) of a place where I have worked at 6 days a week for the last 3 years.
I need to start printing then, I think I have traded them all away!
