Ooo, nice. I like the breadth that includes so much, without losing the feeling of the individuals.

the peninsula of sand leading the eye into the foreground really completes this for me. Excellent early effort!

Since this is the critique gallery, I'll jump in with some observations. (I've usually used the critique gallery and always appreciated the honest feedback that often comes).

I like the composition and the peaceful mood set by the 2 women. I can feel the serenity, and also the chill in the air. The sky appears to be too heavily and obviously burned; doesn't seem natural, the darkest spots appearing almost as smoke. The clear areas in the mid sky are attractive, drawing the eye off into the distance, in the direction that the women seem to be looking. Perhaps try burning more gently and evenly, consider a post-flash of the sky to maintain the definition by allowing details in the highlights to comme through in the sky.

First efforts? Well done!

I love this image for reasons I can't describe!
