A few years ago, when I started shooting large format. I was out in downtown austin photographing buildings, getting used to all the movements of LF, etc.
I had a shot set up of the Pickle Fed Building in downtown.
As I was looking into the groundglass I saw a small figure on the top part of the frame (bottom of the image) running towards me yelling, as he got closer, I noticed he actually had his gun drawn and was pointing it at me and the "weapon" I seemed to be operating.
God love post 9/11 paranoia.
Needless to say, I didn't take that photo.
I've always loved the geometry of this building.
I took this image at about 5pm on sunday evening, from atop a parking garage across the street from the Pickle Bldg. Sun was setting, so it was a LONG exposure at F64.
Platinum/palladium print on Fabriano Artistico Extra White developed in PotOx.
A small 675 pixel wide version kinda defeats the purpose of what interested me about the scene... so, if anyone is curious to see a larger version (about 1200 pixels wide)....
