Vilano Jetty and Early Sun

The marsh 'graph I just posted was the best I could do at actual sunrise, but a little later I continued to Vilano beach and made this over the lone jetty. There are no naturally occurring rocks in this area other than the limestone coquina, so finding this man made structure was welcome for a foreground.

Thank you, Michael, and Shawn. What I'm really excited about is how well the 45mm lens handles direct sunlight. I've never had a lens that could do it as well as this one does, and that opens up a lot of future possibilities. It must be better 'coated' than an Eskimo in winter.

Agree with all the above, and as you say, being there is more than half the battle. Nice too, when you go out with a special photo in mind and then find something totally different. Have to ask...you shoot with a Pentax 6x7, but always print square?

Thanks, Tony. The nice thing about 6x7 is that, knowing I can crop as I see fit, I never turn the camera in its side. Not all my photographs are truly square, but they're often close to it. I just lop off the bits I don't need, and voila! Or....maybe I've just always wanted a Hassleblad, and to paraphrase Janis Joplin, "My friends all have Hassies; I must make amends!" Ha!
