Thomas,

For this ZS enthusiast, knowing your shadow placement would be of interest; it looks as if the scene was of fairly high contrast, leaving you with very little exposure latitude. Although, I assume your important highvalue fell too high on the scale for you since N-1 was used.

FWIW, I think the negative scan reveals nice tonal relationships, but my eye does not like the inclusion of the upper window/balcony area. Just my two cents. Thanks for sharing the photo.

Chuck

Thomas, I will disagree with Chuck on this one. When one is accustomed to photographing known objects, then managing the visual space takes on another meaning then what you are accomplishing here. Photography of aspects of form is a far different matter.

This is a composition that is very fine and is on par with your usual excellence. Thanks for posting.

Off-beat....

I find at first glance that the composition clashes b/c the perspective puts my eye between these 2 windows and leaves me looking for more of each. Since I have every confidence that you did this deliberately, I find myself looking closer and appreciating this "clash in me". Disequilibrium settling to equilibrium.

Cheers.

there is a lot to be said about ,"repeat" and in this image there are several which causes IMHO the viewer to explore the image several times to take un all the image has to offer...very nice composition and image
