The village of Vent in the Valley from a high altitude hiking trail. I saved this print and several others for toning. They were printed about 1/2 stop over (in error) and they look better in sepia. This paper is chlorobromide emulsion. Sky has had an extra 1.5 stops burn.
Wow, this is nice. Love the tone, maybe being over-exposed actually helps, but this seems every detail is in the print. I am liking very much that camera you are using, too.
Yes, some density is lost when sepia toning (the brown is not as dense as the black it replaces and the print is bleached first) so that's why I save prints I have exposed for a bit too long. I don't mean overexposed film but overexposed paper. The brown tone can be adjusted to a very dark brown if wanted but I like it like this. Conversely, Selenium toning deepens the blacks so some underexposed prints might suit but I've never done selenium toning.
I too am liking the GF670. It's a 6x6 or 6x7 folder. As you know, I love my Zeiss folders but they are very elderly and do strange things with architecture. Actually the GF670 is much more bulky than my Super Ikonta IV but it can do 6x7 and the S.I can't. Another annoyance is the GF670 can't be folded with a filter in place whereas the Zeiss can. Modern isn't always better.......
