I want to do this kind of portraits but every time I have a problem asking people to pose for me. Did you know these people? they look happy to have their picture taken which I know is not always the case. Would love a piece of advice. Thanks
I know what you mean about approaching people. First I find a good face. Then, while not hiding my camera, I just talk with them for awhile about almost anything. If they seem friendly, I tell them that photography is my hobby and I'd like to take their photo. Sometimes they say no and you just have to accept that. If they say yes, I just keep talking to them to keep them comfortable while I shoot. I also say if they would like a copy to give me their email address. Some people are flattered. Some are scared. And some just blow you off. But that's part of the deal. One thing I NEVER do is take a photo of someone without asking their permission. I believe that's just plain wrong. Hope this helps.
