I've got lots of questions Bertus. I've not seen vandyke on cloth before. Do you paint on the emulsion, or soak the cloth, as I've done for cyanotype?

4x5 linen and VanDyke!?!? Wow, you are really off the beaten path with this!

Sly: I paint the VanDyke direct on an uncoated cloth, so NOT on coated cloth. I had bad results with that and good results on wood. Important: use a solid not soaking surface underground as an underlayment for brushing. After painting one side the other side is allready wet enought. Hang it to dry in the dark and then the standard VanDyke process: http://www.sciencecompany.com/Van-Dyke-Brown-Photographic-Process-W165.aspx My exposuretime is 4 minutes UV at 9 cm distance.

Wonderful image, Bertus! Looks like an old photograph from 1904. A nice "pictorial" image with these clouds, too.
