I like the variable softness. A metaphor for time or a story in this case. I think it is stronger than a sharp version would be.

Ironic that the Brownie was intended as a near fool-proof camera and your adaption requires considerable precision to make it work.

Graham, this comes from an unhacked Portrait
Brownie. The blur in this case comes not from
altered optics, but from a one-second exposure
on a blustery dark afternoon. Sanders

Even more intriguing that it appears sharp at all. I thought I recalled you had reversed the lens in this camera - I had not realised that it was motion blur.
