The composition reminds one of a pod opening with its seed, or a flower revealing the life inside. The great shapes of shadow and light and the relationship of the adult arm and hand to the tender but heavy baby, somehow carry a sense of surrealism. I really can't stop admiring it!

Both of these, this one and the one of the older sister, are fantastic in so many ways.
