The focus is perfect, and the harsh lighting no only gives depth to what's there, but it also in doing so, elevated the leave and trash and makes the black, almost a void about to swallow them both.
Thanks. That looks like the IIIf with Summicron on a NOOKY close focus adapter. No filters were involved but some minor pulling of highlights occurred. The Summicron I have has damaged glass from years of alpha bombardment from the thorium in the front element, which gives it a light yellow hue. I find that the old lenses with Thorium and Lanthanum (the yellowed collapsable Summicron and a 50mm f/2.8 Elmar from '58 I have) do add to the quality you describe, where the lenses from the '70 and 80' do not. I did overdevelop this roll a bit adding to the excitement.
