View inside Dorothys crumbling United Church, once the focal point for scores of area weddings and christenings. The last service was performed here in 1961.
I like this strongly asymmetrical image. You can still get a strong impression of grace and light in this space despite its current state of disrepair. Please share more!
Really like it too. Very creative composition works so well. I like how you've cropped each extreme window by similar amounts, the curve in the ceiling, the shadow details - all work very well.
Thanks to all! I was initially concerned about flare, but this lens shows it can handle extreme contrast without much worry. I do have one further image from outside the building which I feel works quite well. I just need to find the negative now.
EricR, - I used to live in Rosedale, just upstream from Dorothy and so spent a lot of time both here and around East Coulee as well. Definately a ton of great oportunities although a great many old buildings are disappearing. The badlands themselves are worthy of a trip too.
