The M60 is a gas-operated, air-cooled, belt-fed, fully-automatic machine gun that fires from the open-bolt position and is chambered for the 7.62x51mm (0.308 in) NATO cartridge. Ammunition is fed from a 100-round bandolier containing a disintegrating, metallic split-link belt. The weapon can fire 500-650 rounds/min, with a muzzle velocity of 2,800 feet/sec, at an effective range of 1,200 yards.
No, I'm not worried at all. I expected a wide range of responses. Random distribution in a large population guarantees that. It's why I titled the submission as painfully neutral as I could, and kept my own opinion of the photograph strictly to myself.
I also expected to get beaten up a bit. Anyone who knows me also knows that's not a problem either. I found the in-depth discussion and various widely differing opinions to be a wonderful exercise in individual interpretation.
That is something I wish could happen more frequently in these galleries.
Every few days while I'm APUGing I wonder whatever happened to { Insert Member Name } today was Ken's turn.
I searched his name and found this masterpiece, being able to take such a perfectly exposed photograph, under the
circumstances, is a wonderful accomplishment.
