Two friends

Gorgeous girls and gorgeous smiles!
I have something to learn on both sides of the lens here. I don't think there has ever been a time in my life where I've felt comfortable to ask a stranger to take my photo (or even a friend, for that matter) so you must have something about you, good sir, and these girls have so much more guts than I ever had and that lovely confidence shines through in your photo.
Oh, and when someone does ask me to take their photo, I feel obligated to warn them that I will make them look like a gargoyle (which works for me because I love gargoyles), but isn't much good for those wanting a nice portrait. I just like to seriously lower expectations, so no confidence on the other side of the camera either. Over and again you show, 'this is how it's done'.

I don't think, I just do...it always seems to turn out OK

I notice that emigrant communities aren't infected with the same misery that people born and raised here seem to have so often - it was really lovely to see everyone in this group, adults and kids alike, smiling so much! Just genuinely happy people...it's one of the reasons I have absolutely zero tolerance for nonsense from people who denigrate immigrants.
It shouldn't stand out so much to see kids playing outside, or people being friendly, but sadly it is these days. That's why it's so precious to talk with people who don't subscribe to our society's angrier impulses.
