trine smiling

I remember having a blast doing these portraits.
Making a person laugh/smile like this with a slow working LF fiesd camera seemed difficult.

When I was ready to take the picture, I stood next to the front of the camera (no shutter), and told Trine to (maybe) react to a silly joke I was about to tell - but reacting to the camera - not me....

That she just thought was so surreal and funny so she started to laugh even before I made my bad joke...

This came out.

18x24cm paper negative. Petzval lens.
Equipment Used
oak tree field camera.
Gorgeous!

Mosr of my models have tried to pose in the Painting with light technique - so I have "trained" them to pose quite still, without seeming stiff.

And I use flash as light mostly. So the wobbeling is out - just the focus presents the challenge...

A-yup... this is quite nice.
