Trident's trike (lith print)

Trident's trike (lith print)

This was the first lith print I tried of this negative. I spent all night trying to cut down the contrast to unblow the trike seat's barnacles, but at the end of the night, after drydown, I liked this one best. The scan doesn't show the very subtle detail in the apparently blocked up areas, I can't quite match the bright highlight subtlety of the print.

A criticism I've received on this image in general is that the trike and background are not well separated. That's precisely what I like about this; the subtle way in which the trike, covered with barnacles, merges with and mirrors the lichen-encrusted rocks. This was obviously staged, but I found the trike pulled from the harbour by someone's crab trap (seen in the upper right corner).

Looks great Walter... There's a 3-D feel with the slight soft focus in the background, and that provides separation. Thanks for posting...
