This grabbed me as I scanned through the gallery. I think it has even greater potential if you work on the lower half, wonderful tones and detail there.

I agree, the light at the base of the tree, and the texture of the roots is what stopped me in my tracks.
The scan and upload hasn't done justice to the original print. I'll try again and repost

Very nicely done. The shadow details in the foreground roots, and trunks provide a nice contrast to the light airy background.
