Tree and Fences

Tree and Fences

This was the view from our holiday cottage window during our week in The Lake District over New Year. Every day I looked for a way to capture the network of fences and the shape of the tree but something got in the way. And then it snowed and it all made sense. I still felt that the image needed another dimension so I used extreme movements on my view camera to create this effect.

I used a new printing technique here. Firstly I partially toned in sepia but then I toned in gold which created a more variagated tone, intensified the blacks, increased contrast and turned the highlights more orangey.

Lovely photograph and beautiful tones. It has an otherworldly quality similar to some of the toy camera images, but not quite expected using a large format camera. Nicely done.

All the best,
Daniel

Love it! It's going in my favourites. Regards, B.
