treatment of Cyanotypes

..two versions of the same 4x5" image.

First is deeply tonet in tea (travancore tea) and then I partially bleached out the white areas, using clorine..

Nest is partially toned with tea - then coffee (nipples/lips) and avoiding the white in the eyes...

These both look fantastic. Could you please help clarify what you mean by toning specific areas? Are you simply applying the tea onto the specific area and letting dry? I've been wondering about doing similar things and would would love some tips!

thanks both.
Klainmeister; yes - I "handcolour" with a small brush - just using tea or other toning agents...

the bleaching is tricky - especially with small images like this. The bleaching tend to "bleed", so be careful. But a sharpened tooth pick is a good tool...

after your grief for Norway, it's good to see this & go on: nice Rembrandtesk 'Flora'

my grief is not over!

Just made some images with Her in min mind.
What comes out, I don't know...

Continually delighted by your amazing work! Yes, the partially toned one is absolutely fantastic.

Do you therefore have higher concentration "toner" or do you re-apply? This is highly fascinating for me. The most recent image I added to my gallery is a cyanotype toned, but I would love to be able to do accurate toning instead of general.

Thanks!

there is something vulnerable about her , the way she looks into the camera , the way she hold her hands ...if you study her gaze in both they seem to express two different things
